Mentoring
is when someone who has direct and relevant experience of a specific area of work or life skill can offer advice and suggestions to help the client. Coaching helps the client to explore for themselves the problem at hand, their potential options and how they might move forward.
Coaching
in the business arena should never give advice - coaches work in a non-directive way. In this way the client develops an ability to think in a more effective way, increases self-responsibility and takes full ownership of the solutions they themselves develop (see our Coaching section).
Mentoring is part of human learning, we have all learned from our parents, teachers, role models, supervisors and friends. Mentoring is one person’s attempt to guide another, and a mentor’s role is to guide someone through the process of becoming more fulfilled and productive in his or her organisation. We provide individual mentoring schemes and we are also able to offer training for organisations that are interested in developing a mentoring philosophy in the workplace.
